When you change your loyalty card design, a pass that is already installed may not show the new version immediately. Use the steps below to check the latest design without reinstalling the pass.
Apple Wallet¶
The most reliable way to test an Apple Wallet design is to refresh the pass manually.
Save your design changes¶
Save the latest changes in the JeriCommerce admin.
Open the pass¶
Open the loyalty card in Apple Wallet on your iPhone.
Pull down to refresh¶
Place your finger on the pass and pull down until the loading indicator appears. Release it and wait for the card to update.
If the pass still does not update, open the pass details and check that Automatic Updates is turned on. Allow Notifications should also be on if you want to receive wallet notifications.
Google Wallet¶
Google Wallet can receive a notification that asks the pass to check for the latest version. From the JeriCommerce admin, search for the customer's email and send Take a look at your design.
The notification is sent without a link. It asks Google Wallet to refresh the installed pass, so the customer can see the latest design when they open it.
Notification delivery is controlled by the wallet provider¶
Apple and Google decide when a wallet notification is displayed. Delivery can be delayed or limited by the platform, the device, or notification settings. If a notification does not appear during a test, that does not necessarily mean the pass update failed.
For repeated Apple Wallet tests, use pull to refresh instead of sending several notifications. For Google Wallet tests, avoid sending repeated notifications in a short period and wait for the platform limit to clear. See troubleshooting wallet notifications if a customer is not receiving any wallet notifications.
Reinstall only when necessary¶
Reinstalling the pass is useful when you need to test the first-time installation experience. For normal design changes, refreshing the installed pass is faster and keeps the same customer and wallet setup.
